I agree, the best albums from King Crimson come with Wetton on vocals.. it's a shame they disbanded and only reformed with Belew, sometimes even being the main guitar on some songs.. bromance anyone?

I find it entirely possible that if one missed the boat and got into Frank and the M.O.I. anytime after "Roxy And Elsewhere", it would be easy to sort of dismiss him as some kind of joke...I was lucky and deranged enough in High School to get to see them live in the 1970's several times. Frank was a regular on New Years Eve for years. Being a long time record freak, it was great to see him bring back songs like More Trouble Every Day from Freak Out. That guy was also the most phenomenal guitar player I've ever seen. "It's God, God, I see God!"...."Hot Rats" and "The Grand Wazoo" are pivotal points. His lyrical commentary is all very relevant to this world we still get to live in. Frank wrote informed by Phantasm and The Ugly Truth. Which don't seem that far apart to me at this point in my life. Even though Frank claims to never have taken drugs, I think I need to go roll a joint with my High School Diploma.

Thanks, Alan. FZ is an artist I haven't been able to connect to yet. Thanks for the album recommendations, that will make it so much easier to navigate his extensive catalogue.

Where have I been? I thought I had subscribed to this Bullshit. I had to, got to, hang out with the junior Donovan when NBC was filming a schlock TV mini series in my shop a while ago. It was called, you guessed it, The 60's. You can even rent it at your local DVD dump. Donovan gave me a copy of Nancy Boy, not that I could tell you where it is now, but I liked it. He was a nice cat. Also in the fray was Carnie Phillips of Wilson Phillips fame...she was very sweet as well. We had a great time even though those film making idiots take forever to get anything done. Oh well....it was fun and they paid me a lot of cash. Speaking of Donovan, Room Eleven at the Joshua Tree Inn is where the other Donovan hangs out when he wants to get his Gram On. I've stayed there and it's pretty handy. Room 8 is perhaps something to avoid. I've been in there but don't know if I'd want to stay there.

Alan, tracked you down through Dean Van Eimeren. How the hell are you and why NJ? Some of Jerry Nicholson's old students are planning a get together to honor him maybe late summer/early fall. Drop me an email, phone number so we can catch-up

This is great! Tonight is the "Behind the Scenes Tour" for the public and I have a slideshow prepared of all the projects and exhibits we've worked on the last year and this music is gonna kick it up a notch.
Imagine looking at slides of the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit while listening to Big City Life and Hanging with the wrong crowd. This is gonna be fun! I'll let you know if I still have a job on Monday!
